Welcome! I am a Los Angeles-based scholar of history and literature, committed to dredging up the strange and surprising aspects of the past. I believe in combining scholarly rigor with public accessibility, and I approach all of my projects with thorough research and an open mind. My area of expertise is the nineteenth century— I have particular affinities for women’s political and domestic history, periodical culture, and the macabre— but I am always eager to apply my research skills to new fields.

I recently completed a project for Thomas Edison National Historical Park, where I conducted original research to put together new museum programming about Mina Miller Edison (1865-1947).
